Play the game!

For my thesis project, I chose to invent, design, write, and illustrate a choose-your-own adventure card game. 

Centered around the story of a lost elf trying to find their community, it touches on themes of soul-searching, finding meaning in one’s journey, and learning from the characters one meets along the way. 

Inspired by the children’s media I grew up with and loved, the game is played by following different paths across the cards, based on the player’s decisions. The game can be played over and over again, with different choices yielding different encounters and outcomes. 

Eventually, the player reaches an ending — with their choices revealing whether they end up as lost as they started, or if they find a way to embrace the journey.
